The RediFlo2 is a workhorse in environmental sampling, known for its performance in low-flow and purge-and-sample applications, especially at depth. It's even featured in EPA sampling guidelines (SESDPROC-301-R3)! But when it comes to PFAS sampling, there's a catch.
Many materials used in environmental sampling can contain PFAS, potentially biasing your results. This includes some materials in the RediFlo2. While the pump is primarily built with 316 stainless steel (generally okay for PFAS), it also contains PTFE.
PTFE, or Polytetrafluoroethylene (C2F4)n, contains fluorine. Since PFAS are per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, using PTFE can introduce contamination risks.
Bottom line: We don't recommend the RediFlo2 for PFAS sampling.
